april postscript

April was a whirlwind. I was only in New York for about a week total. Those kinds of months are wonderful, but I’m also so grateful to come home and be in my own, familiar space. I have been savoring that as May has begun.

The delicious:
- the incredible variety of food we experienced in South Korea; one of my favorite meals was a seafood lunch in Busan, where we grilled clams and scallops and abalone, all still in their shells, at our table until they were perfectly tender
- the assortment of unique ice cream flavors at Caleta; go with a big group so you can try half the menu like we did
- the spinach, artichoke and white bean dip from Joe Yonan’s Cool Beans; it’s been a hit every time I’ve made it

The bright spots:
- exploring new places
- family time
- a wonderfully rainy weekend where I finally got to relax at home and did absolutely nothing
- Lumalee in the new Super Mario movie

Entertainment:
- I watched a lot of bad TV and movies, and read some mediocre books, so I’ll save any recommendations for May’s postscript
- That said, I’ve been enjoying this year’s season of Top Chef and had four episodes to catch up on when I got back from traveling
