The delicious:
- homemade brunch at a friend’s: eggs, fresh waffles, salad, a lemon loaf, and Kir Royales
- the creamy sweetbreads and sweet-tart Queen’s pudding at Lord’s
- the better-late-than-never 88 chicken at Palpal
- the Dak Bulgogi Dosirak brunch plate at Anju
- recreating a favorite breakfast: ham, cheese, and a fried egg in a croissant, with lightly dressed greens on the side
- this white bean and chicken chili
The bright spots:
- friends that know you better than you know yourself
- seeing new pictures on my wall when I walk into my room
- a quick weekend trip to DC made up of quality time with good friends
- reading SO many books
A reading list:
- so well written and incredibly educational: Caste by Isabel Wilkerson
- for smart and sexy romance: Bolu Babalola’s Honey and Spice and anything by Ali Hazelwood (both recommendations from NPR’s Books We Love list)
- a dark escape: Leigh Bardugo’s Hell Bent (but beware, it’s the second book of an as-yet incomplete series)
P.S. I’ve always been partial to the word postscript; P.S. matches my initials and I am tickled by the idea of my name hiding at the bottom of a letter.
